Happy fall!

I know that it seems I'm rushing the seasons.  I'm really not!  This has been a cooler than normal summer, so I'm in no hurry for fall though I love the changing of the leaves and the fact that winter and SNOW are not far behind.   Now that I've got you all upset with me at the thought of winter and snow...   "Happy fall, y'all!"   That is just my card's sentiment.

My image is the free image of From The Heart Stamps August FREE Stamp of the Month Challenge... Pimpkin Pigwit.  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.  My DP is We R Memory Keepers "hall Pass" 6x6.  It has a lot of school related pages but also lots of other fun papers.  The image is cut out with Spellbinders Lacy Circles and Circles.  A few brads and twine bow and it was all done.

Challenges...
FTHS Digital Stamp of the Month Challenge - August
Papertake Weekly - Sketchie Free For All (I used #93)

Garden sympathy

On one hand, sympathy cards are my least favorite to make, but on the other hand, I enjoy making them for the fact that I know they can be a blessing and encouragement.   I needed to make one this past weekend, and ended up making a few to have on hand.   I pray this is an encouragement to the recipients.

My image is Asian Garden COLOR Plus from Doodle Pantry.   My DP is Prima "Madeline," the border is a MS punch, and the sentiment is a Stampabilities rubber stamp.   I used Spellbinders 15 and cut it using a technique called "layering nested frames" that I found at this blog post.  It's looks really neat IRL!!

Challenges...
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - anything goes
Come and Get It - anything goes w/ sentiment
613 Avenue Create #86 - anything goes w/ optional post-it notes twist (did not do twist)
Word Art Wednesday #147 - anything goes w/ Scripture or uplifting sentiment

Today I've got an anniversary card to show you.   Anniversary cards usually take me quite a long time in comparison to other cards because I want them to be really special.  This one was made a little quicker so it leaves a little bit to be desired IMO.  :/   {I do think the mushy stuff I wrote on the inside to my hubby made up for it!! :) }

~DRS "Song in My Heart Greeting" (I actually used a rubber stamp and not a digi!!)
~AC "Lucky Charm" DP
~Spellbinders Postage Stamp die
~TH "tea dye" ink
~CB Love Language EF

Challenges...

"Cool" card - TMS #264

Happy Tuesday to you!!  It's challenge time at Tuesday Morning Sketches!!  :)

Today, I have a really "cool" card for you!  [Does anyone know if it is still "cool" to say "cool"??  LOL]   No matter... this card is cool anyway...

This was really fun to put together!  My BG paper is DCWV 6x6 "Spring & Summer" Corrugate Stack.  The frame around the image is Spellbinders Tile Works.  I used Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A to cut out the sentiment. Both panels were inked with TH "tea dye."  A  bit of ribbon and hemp were the final touches.

My image is "Ice Cream Man" from Zap Pow Designs... our sponsor for the week.  Play along for your chance to win 3 digis from Zap Pow!

Here is Melissa's wonderful sketch...  This is a great one that you can make your own... fancy... CAS... whatever your style!

Need a little pickup?

I've got a fun card to show you today...  It's got an old clunker on it!  LOL  We never had one exactly like this, but when I was first driving, our family did have a clunker or two.  My dad taught motor mechanics so he was always fixing up cars.  It meant I always had wheels even though they may not have been pretty! ;)  Some of our friends would tease us about our "lemons"... that is until they wanted a ride somewhere!!

My colored image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry's Classic Clunkers 2.   Fun set!!  My image is cut out using Spellbinders Labels Four.  I used a couple of papers from my scrap pile that I thought looked "distressed" too.   I wrapped some baker's twine on a diagonal, added a few black "raindrops" and it was all done.

Challenges...
613 Avenue Create #85 - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - anything goes
Through the Craft Room Door Aug 19-25 - anything goes
Clear It Out - theme: anything goes + stash: anything goes (scraps of paper, last bit of twine, and OLD adhesive dots)

Watercolor wonders -TMS #262

Happy Tuesday to you!!  It's time for Tuesday Morning Sketches and this week is our JUDGED CHALLENGE with a TWIST!!   I love the challenges with the twist, BUT I have to tell you that this one really challenged me!  This week's twist is "Watercolor"!!   You can use watercolor pencils, or paints, or inks, etc., on any part of your creation for this one.

I've never played with watercolor, so I looked up some tuts on Youtube for inspiration and instruction.  My first attempt was inking a stamp block, spritzing it with water, then using a brush to "paint" my watercolor paper.  Unsuccessful!  Then I tried inking the block, spritzing it with water again, and applying that to the paper.  HA!  It looked like my whole craft room puked on it.  Not good!!   As I was silently muttering about this "awesome" twist, I decided to try one more time...  I used a small SU ink pad and randomly placed it on the paper.  Then I spritzed the inked areas with water and let it all dry.  Nothing impressive but far better than the other attempts!!  (They are all in the trash!)  Some areas got too much water and some didn't get enough, but I was happy to finally have something I could actually use!

My DP is scraps from my desk.  The sentiment is a M5D clear stamp.  The rolled flower is a free SVG from Paper This and That.  It makes the card about 1 1/2" high so no mailing this baby! LOL

Our sponsor this week is Craft Classes Online (formerly My Creative Classroom) and you can win a seat to a class of your choice.  Maybe I should see if they have a watercolor class!  ;)

Here's Melissa's wonderful sketch...

Happy Camper!

Summertime and camping.  For many people, the two always go together.  When I was a child, my family always went camping.  One year, we traveled all the way across Canada and down through the States all the way back home.  That was a wonderful trip!!  As an adult, I now appreciate all the work that my parents had to do did for that to happen!  Our family now has camped a few times, but we prefer using our timeshare.  I've gotten soft, and this is the easy way to vacation!  :)

Why am I blabbing on about camping?  Take a look at my card...

This image and sentiment are from one of this month's new releases at Doodle Pantry....  "On the Road"  is a fun set!!  My paper was all scraps. :)  I added a bit of burlap and 2 antique copper brads.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!!
